Breaking News: There are verses to help you conquer fear, worry, and depression
God wants a personal relationship with you. God does not want you to fear or be dismayed. God wants you to completely trust Him. Here is list of verses that helped me overcome my anxieties and fears. Hope they do the same.
1 Peter 5:7 states, “Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you.”
Philippians 4:6-7 states, “Do not be anxious about anything, in prayer and supplication make your request known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Matthew 11:28-30 states, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and Humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Philippians 4:13 states, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
John 16:33 states, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the World you have tribulation but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
Hebrews 13:5b-6 states, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So, we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance The Lord be with you all!”
Proverbs 29:25 “The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.”
Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?”
Psalm 55:22 states, “Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.”
Psalm 37:5 states, “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.”
Proverbs 16:3 states, “Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit.”
Matthew 6:26-34 states, “Look a the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Isaiah 41:10 states, “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold with My righteous right hand.”
1 John 4:18 states, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.”
Psalm 139:13-18 states, “For you formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, For I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are Your Works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and Skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your Book were all written the days that were ordained fro me, when as yet there was not one of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O Lord! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I am awake, I am still with You.”
Psalm 139:23-24 states, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.”
Philippians 4:19 states, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
James 4:8 states, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
Isaiah 43:1-2 states, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 states, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Psalm 23:4 states, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 147:3 states, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 25 states, “In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies’ triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come to those who are treacherous without cause. Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, Your great mercy and love, for they are from of God. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good. Good and upright is the Lord; therefore, he instructs sinners in his ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keeps the demands of his covenant. For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the Land. The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are never on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the trouble of my heart and free me from my anguish. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. See how numerous my enemies are and how fiercely they hate me! Guide my life and rescue me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.”
Psalm 34 (ESV), Of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away, states, “I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, Magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of LORD encamps around those who fear him and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut the memory of them form the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.”
These are all the verses that helped me overcome my fears and anxieties. God wants you to pursue a personal relationship with him. Biblical Discipleship is all about pursuing a friendship so that you can make biblical change toward Christlikeness. What more than pursuing a friendship with Christ by memorizing God’s Word.
