Breaking News: Repentance from sin is an essential part to the emotional and spiritual recovery.

God wants us to turn away from sin and turn towards God. Sin disregards God’s code of ethics. Sin is anything you think, say, or do that displeases God or makes God sad. God does not want us to live in sin, instead he wants us to turn away from our sin and trust in him all the more. 1 John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.” Once we turn away from our old ways of life and confess our sins, he is faithful to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and we made new in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Once we have gotten rid of old ways of life and believe in Jesus Christ, we are made new and have grown in the character of Christ.

Repentance and saving faith are inseparable. One cannot live without the other. Repentance is the crucial part of the emotional and spiritual recovery because once you repent, you have made a biblical change towards Christ-likeness. You are headed on the road towards Christ-likeness if you change the old ways of life. Everyone has sinned and have been separated from God. The only way to not be separated by Jesus Christ is to believe in Jesus Christ, repent your sins, and turn to Jesus Christ when the going gets tough.

Once you do these, you will be able to be on the path towards Christ-likeness. if you made this heart change to follow Christ with all your heart, soul, and mind, then our actions will be on a path towards Christ-likeness. It is so crucial to demonstrate to those around you because they will know you are Christian by the way you live your life. If you live in your sin, the people will know that you are not Christian because of the way you act. Our Actions are the outflow of the heart. Right knowledge leads to the right character and the right character leads to the right doing. According to Joshua Paxton, Evangelism/Spiritual Life Professor, coined the phrase “Know-Be-Do.” This statement is very important which means it is essential to repent your old ways of life and believe in Jesus Christ to share in the inheritance of Eternal Life with Christ Jesus. Once you believe in Jesus Christ and turn from your sin, you will be adopted in the kingdom of God and be called a child of the one true King.

Application

So, I urge you to take this by heart and consider accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. If you have already accepted Jesus Christ and have repented your old ways of life, you are called a Child of God. John 1:12-13 (ESV) states, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” So if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you are considered a child of God and should share this good news with others so that they also be considered a child of God if they believe in the one true God. Also, you can lean on Jesus Christ if you believe in Him. 1 Peter 5:7 (ESV) states, “Cast all your cares upon him, because he cares for you.” God cares for you and loves you. So, lean on him during the storms of life.

In Conclusion, These steps of repentance, trusting in God, exercise, and biblical discipleship can help you overcome the spiritual storms of life and get you on the road to an emotional and spiritual recovery. Trusting in God is the first step. Then, repenting your sin and turning towards Jesus Christ. Next, getting involved in a discipleship group can help you make biblical changes towards Christ-likeness. Finally, exercising can help you not feel as stressed and help you feel less anxious. If you do these steps, you can be on your way to feeling less anxious, less fearful, and more in control of your life. Only Jesus Christ can give you a sense of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment in this world. I hope you take these to heart.
